My Training and Experience
Alisha meets each person exactly where they are; with warmth, presence, and a deep reverence for the wisdom already living within them. Her therapeutic work is rooted in the understanding that healing is not something done to us, but something that unfolds through us, gently and in its own time. Each session is an invitation — a collaborative and loving space where the unique value and innate wholeness of every individual is honored, witnessed, and tenderly supported.
Her path into mindfulness and healing began in the late 1990s, when she first discovered the profound stillness available through Hatha Yoga and mindful awareness. She received her yoga teaching certification in 2007, and in May 2014 she followed the quiet pull of her heart to North Carolina, settling into a new chapter of life with her husband and three children. Here, rooted in the red clay earth of this beautiful state, she continues to tend to her deepest calling: weaving love, light, and intentional living into everything she touches.
In 2018 she deepened her understanding of the body as a vessel of healing, completing her RYT-500 Yoga Trauma and Therapeutics Training through the Asheville Yoga Center of North Carolina — a natural extension of her belief that the body holds both our wounds and our wisdom.
Alisha is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, holding a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University School of Social Services in New York City, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The School of Visual Arts, also in New York City. She brings to her work the rare and beautiful integration of clinical depth, creative sensitivity, and embodied presence.
With great tenderness and humility, Alisha offers yoga classes, mindfulness workshops, and retreats throughout North Carolina and beyond — creating sanctuaries of stillness and transformation wherever she goes. Her approach is compassionate and integrative, drawing from a rich tapestry of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Expressive Therapy, Neuroscience, Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Therapy, Pranayama, and Meditation always in service of the whole human. Alisha is currently participating in Level 2 training of Hakomi Somatic Psychotherapy.
She is deeply honored to walk alongside adults, couples, and groups — offering accessible, sustainable, and soulful tools for navigating life's tender and turbulent passages. Whether one is moving through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship distress, life transitions, chronic pain, compulsive patterns, substance use, eating disorders, or the ache of feeling lost; Alisha holds space with the understanding that suffering is not a flaw in our nature, but an invitation to come home to ourselves.
WHEN PEOPLE WORK WITH ME, I AM GUIDED BY THEIR NEEDS. I WANT TO HEAR THEIR STORY.
My focus revolves around embracing self-love, self-care, and self-realization - for the greater good of all beings and the planet- all while being guided by the beauty and joy found in nature. I derive immense satisfaction from assisting individuals in connecting with their inner selves, navigating blind spots, understanding their emotions, and utilizing that awareness for personal growth and a more effective engagement with life. Together, we can silence the external noise to foster inner calm. By deepening our connection with experiences, we unlock the ability to fully live and choose the narrative of our lives. We have the power to shape who we become, the company we keep, and the extent to which we show up for ourselves and others.
WE ALL DESERVE TO BREATHE, MOVE, AND EXPRESS OURSELVES IN A WAY THAT IS HEALING AND EMPOWERING.
