Let's come together at Umstead Park in Cary NC to tread lightly through The Loblolly Trail. We'll celebrate community through introductions then embody the sacred space Mama Earth has provided through the healing practice of Nobel Silence. Our breath practice along with along with the ever-changing sensations of the forrest will serve as a focal point for our moving meditation.
Being among the trees chemically changes the body. It reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, calms anxiety, and counters feelings of social isolation leaving practitioners more relaxed and in a better mood. Study after study has proven experiences like this, in nature, is highly effective for self soothing and result in increased empathy and improved focus.
"The practice of Nobel Silence helps quiet the mind and condition the body in the discipline of right speech. By learning to keep from speaking every word that comes up, we can censor or even omit harmful speech, and thus keep from causing harm and suffering to others and ourselves." In some cases I’ll guide us through walking meditation and at times we will be silent.
