Mother Daughter Backpacking and Yoga Retreat Overnight

SOLD OUT

Join Alisha Nissenfeld and Angela Gautreau, for a Mother and Daughter Overnight Yoga and Backpacking trip on section 10 of the MST. We’ll explore Falls Lake as we move away from Raleigh toward the Eno River. The terrain is a soft mix of rolling hills and flat land that should be great for active moms of all ages and daughters ages 10+

We’ll hike 6.4 miles Saturday and 3.8 Sunday for a total of 10.2. Each person will carry a backpack and gear including food and water. We’ll set up tents along the trail in primitive campsites and sites that have been created to support the sustainability of the trail. You’ll star off with 3 liters of water and we’ll source and filter water from the trail.

Daytime highs for this time of year average 82 degrees and nighttime lows are around 76 degrees. There will be plenty of time for yoga, swimming, learning wilderness survival skills, and fun exploratory games to help strengthen our sense of self in community, held by nature.

We provide a safe and supportive environment for those who identify as women to help promote self-awareness, empowerment, learning to problem solve in unique situations, trusting self and others, mindfulness, building tolerance and resilience, sitting in discomfort and learning to support and accept support from a group.

Weather policy: Day hikes can/ will be rescheduled if weather becomes hazardous. While we would love to be fair weather hikers (because sunny moderate temperatures are marvelous), we cannot control weather once we are on the trail for an overnight/extended back packing trip. What do we do when it’s hot, rainy, windy, cold…we hike! We take consideration when planning routes that leaves us with possible short cuts out if there is a safety issue identified. We are all in this together, let’s get MUDDY!

If you need to cancel your registration within 3 weeks of the trip, you can receive 100% credit toward a future backpacking trip.
